I had the same misgivings but with 3 other friends over live, it's really fun. The level ups actually give you new combos as well as skill points to add to strength, magic ect.

True, thats why I tentatively stated 'I have a feeling', just an observation on my part, hopefully it's unfounded.
Anyway I guess that is my biggest (perceived) gripe with the game, though I must say it has actually been used to great effect in games such as Suikoden.
I don't have the luxury of getting Tales of Vesperia instead though, cause it's not coming out until 09' in Aus.

If I hadn't played the demo for a considerable amount of time and didn't unlock any of the other characters, what would be a good character to choose for my first playthrough. Im gonna go order it now.

I have had 3 online sessions. 2 went smoothly and the other slowed to a crawl and kicked me out. Either way, this game is bloody fantastic and heaps of fun.

The sad thing is though, I have a feeling half the people commenting on this game (on both sides) have probably never played an RPG before. I don't understand why ppl are jumping on the RPG bandwagon, they have always been a niche market.
Either way, I don't think 7.1 is a terrible score by any stretch of the imagination, yet people are acting like this is the end for Microsoft this year?

Unbeknownst to many Halo haters, the Halo Universe is surprisingly deep, with many other possible story arcs the game could take advantage from. Hopefully the next iteration will take advantage of this well crafted universe.
I respectfully disagree. MS doesn't include a free headset in console bundles, which means that people are going out and buying these headsets (which come in a 12month live subscription for example). So why don't Sony start making cheaper headsets available? Because of racist comments? I think the priority is to get a decent reporting system (MS's is hopeless) which will be the foundations for a 'friendlier' online experience.
